MDA National Elective Essay Competition 2007

In order to assist you with funding your elective term MDA National is pleased to once again run the Elective Essay Competition.

Entrants have a chance of winning a bursary of up to $2,000.

"Part of your journey as a medical student in Australia involves undertaking a medical elective. With regard to your chosen location, tell us in 500 words how your medical elective will be a valuable experience in the course of becoming a medical practitioner."

57th March General Assembly for the IMFSA

Australian Medical School Students Shape Government Health Policy

Seven medical students (from Perth [UWA], Hobart [UTAS], Brisbane [UQ] and Melbourne [Monash]) participated in the recent Youth 2020 Summit. They discussed topics such as mental health education in schools, rural workforce issues, Indigenous health inequalities as well as developing ideas such as development of a National Preventative Health Agency and the automatic distribution of Medicare cards to 13 year olds.
